UEPB gives support to local businesses aimed at improving their competiveness with global producers on the export market. The organization is a government of Uganda agency.

Bookablehood is one of the local companies GIZ is showcasing on the global market through the ECOS project. Hajji Moses Musitwa, the technical Advisor at GOPA, a German consulting agency, revealed.

Inside information from Bookableood shows that the company is pushing Tulavo on Generalized system of preference (GSP), East African Community and the European Union Register of Exporters (EU REX).  This according to Basirika, will help local hotel owners to gain access to the North American, European, Japanese, the Asian and the East African travelers among others.

Tulavo is working with the UEPB and GIZ to ensure that the services taken to these markets meet accepted requirements.

The project is a joint venture between the governments of German and Uganda. It is being implemented by GOPA, E4D and e360 among others.

The project involves acquiring ISO certification, preparing the company to become export ready, helping the company to finance its export activities and allowing the company to tap into a pool of experts in business development, quality systems and export markets.
